Bash Khwaja

Senior Architect

Bashir Khwaja has been working in architecture and design for the past 18 years and as a Chartered Architect since 2007. Previously Bashir worked in a number of noted architectural practices in London which lead to him setting up his own practice in 2007 as well as working with YSP.

USL Architects are based in Burnham, Berkshire and work in the high end residential sectors. As an example they are currently working on a grade 1 listed house in Regents Park and a grade 2 listed building in Staines.

Over the years he has developed a good understanding of the complexities of working in London and with all the constraints and the opportunities it provides, such as conversions and changes of use class that can provide a new lease of life to buildings and their environment as well as more sensitive heritage work.

To him good architecture is an example of triumph over adversity. We have always held the belief that Architecture is the art of problem solving, this being the culmination of a number of constraints starting with the clients brief, the budget, the site itself, planning restrictions and building regulations.

The best examples of successful architecture is achieved when an architect is able to use these constraints and create something that is both visually and physically appealing as well as functional.
